Welcome to my new blog y'all!
Let's cut to the chase. What's the purpose of this blog? Realizing this is my last year in my 20s, I felt like I really needed to do something to mark that milestone. My good friend Lisa planted this seed in my head and told me I should do a bucket list of things I want to do before I turn 30. I think she was kidding but I ran with it and she's pretty supportive of crazy ideas.
Somewhere I got the idea to do 30 different things and here we are. Blogging seems like a good way to document my progress and hopefully turn it into a keepsake book later. I realize that 30 items may seem ambitious with only one year to do all the things I want to do, but I have tried to be realistic (my true "bucket list" is very lengthy, perhaps we will get to that at some point).
Truth be told, currently I'm only at 23 items on my list. Here it is in no particular order:
1) See the Grand Canyon
2) Visit New York
3) Go to the Wings and Waves waterpark in McMinnville, OR
4) Get my official CPA license (currently my exams are complete, almost there)
5) Take a photography class
6) See Crater Lake, OR
7) See the Painted Hills in Fossil, OR
8) Portland bridge pedal 2012
9) Visit Canada
10) Go to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl - in the summer time
11) Go to Tree to Tree Adventure Park
12) Keep a Journal
13) Watch all 2012 best picture Oscar nominees
14) High tea at the Columbia Gorge Hotel
15) Trapeze Lessons
16) Go floating (in a river with inner tubes and beer)
17) Huber's Spanish coffee
18) Go horseback riding
19) Read a big ass book (Ex. Anna Karenina)
20) Take a road trip
21) Make a vision board
22) Attend a Baha'i Service
23) Take a reformer Pilates Class
Side note: I have had 2 suggestions for adding "get a tattoo.". Not sure about this one.
I've tried to think of all the things that I always wanted to do, but keep putting off. Maybe bucket lists are cliche, but I feel that telling so many people about my list holds me accountable to take action rather than just thinking about it. I hope this ambition will carry over after I complete my bucket list and continue to inspire me to "just do it" in my everyday life.
I'll hit you guys up with the last 7 soon!
